A Welcome from the Chair

Daljit AhluwaliaWelcome to the  website of the Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) in the College of Science and Liberal Arts (CSLA) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).  This website contains a substantial amount of information about the DMS and its faculty, students, degree programs, academic and research activities, and all other activities that are part of the fabric of Mathematical Sciences at NJIT.  Furthermore, the DMS houses the Division of Biological Sciences, which administers all of the degree programs at NJIT in Biology.  We hope this website will be of great use to you, whether you are a current or prospective student, a parent, an alumnus, a faculty member at another institution, a researcher in academia or industry, or someone who simply is interested in the roles of the mathematical and biological sciences in a technological research university and in the greater community of science and technology outside of NJIT.

The DMS faculty is dedicated to providing a first-class educational experience for undergraduate and graduate students and is devoted to conducting world-class research in many areas of Applied Mathematics, including Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Fluid Dynamics, Linear and Nonlinear Wave Propagation, and Scientific Computing, and in Statistics. We have a dynamic and rapidly developing research and curricular agenda. Our plans are to update this site regularly with faculty and student accomplishments; so, we invite you to make this site part of your web-browsing habits.

Thank you for your interest in the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
