The Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) in the College of Science and Liberal Arts (CSLA) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a department rooted in mathematics with a deep commitment to a broad range of applications as reflected in the research strengths of our faculty and in the educational programs that we administer. Our research groups in the areas of Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Fluid Dynamics, Linear and Nonlinear Wave Propagation and Biostatistics/Applied Statistics are highly regarded for their world-class work. These and the many other areas of DMS research are more fully described on the web pages of the Center for Applied Mathematics and Statistics (http://math.njit.edu/research/index.php). Our degree programs also span a wide range of applications:
B.S. in Mathematical Sciences with options in Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Mathematical Biology and Mathematics of Finance and Actuarial Science
On behalf of the students, staff, scientists and faculty members that make up the Department of Mathematical Sciences, I welcome you and offer the sincere hope that your visits, both virtual and in person, are helpful and productive.
