The mission of the Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) is to educate mathematics, science, and technology students by providing them with extensive and diverse knowledge in the mathematical sciences, and to conduct cutting-edge research in the mathematical sciences. Faculty and advanced graduate students will mentor undergraduate and graduate students to develop and enhance their computational and analytical skills.  These skills will produce highly qualified students who can enter productive careers in industry, education, and research in New Jersey and the nation. 

Faculty researchers in DMS will explore the frontiers of research areas in Applied Mathematics and Applied Statistics with the help of research funding from government agencies such as the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Office of Naval Research, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, National Aeronautics and Space Agency, and Department of Energy.
