Postdoctoral Position Available for September 1, 2013 Hire: 

Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks to fill a two-year postdoctoral research position starting in the Fall of 2013. Candidates with research interests in spatial statistics, time series and related areas are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate will be encouraged to seek collaborations with other department members while also pursuing independent research. Besides research, responsibilities include teaching one course per semester.  

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics with strong research potential and good communication skills. Strong programming and applied data analysis skills is a plus.

At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track/tenured position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in the general area of Mathematical Biology. The Department is particularly interested in candidates with a research focus on the development and application of mathematical techniques to further the understanding of the dynamics of gene, protein or cellular networks but will consider all areas of Mathematical Biology. Approaches combining deterministic and stochastic dynamics are of special interest.

Prerequisite Qualifications: Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience with strong teaching and research potential for consideration at the Assistant Professor level and an appropriate record of accomplishment in classroom teaching, mentoring doctoral students and research publication and funding, at the Associate or Full Professor level.

DMS offers BS, MS & PhD degrees, with tracks in the PhD program in Applied Mathematics as well as Applied Probability & Statistics. Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Applied Statistics/Biostatistics: Big Data)

The Department of Mathematical Sciences seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track/tenured position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in the general area of Biostatistics. The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose research interests focus on the development and application of statistical methods for problems from biomedical fields involving "Big Data."

Prerequisite Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics with strong teaching and research potential for consideration at the Assistant Professor level and an appropriate record of accomplishment in classroom teaching, mentoring doctoral students and research publication and funding, at the Associate or Full Professor level. Postdoctoral experience for hiring at the assistant professor level is preferred.
